Apple’s iPhone-line drought is over
Remember when Apple launched the Verizon iPhone this past February and practically no one lined up to buy it?
That’s not the case today, as the iPhone 4S started selling this morning. Both MacStories and Business Insider have “iPhone lines around the world” posts up, with lots of photos and videos. Apple’s drought is over!
The Verizon iPhone launch — the one with laughably small lines — was an embarrassment for Apple, and it likely played a role in the company’s decision not to allow iPad 2 pre-orders, once again forcing people to line up outside Apple Stores this past March.
But that’s all in the past now. Not only did Apple register 1 million iPhone 4S pre-orders in the first 24 hours, but people are lined up all over the place to pick up the new iPhone.
