“Urbanized,” another great documentary from Gary Hustwit, the “Helvetica” guy
After tackling graphic design and typography with Helvetica and industrial design with Objectified, filmmaker Gary Hustwit’s latest documentary is Urbanized, covering urban design, city planning, and cities in general.
I saw the U.S. premiere tonight and loved it. It’s smart, interesting, and well-assembled. Definitely something that city-lovers will enjoy, and should trick their suburban-sprawl friends into watching at some point.
Gary has already announced a bunch of screening dates, with more on the way. (In the meantime, Helvetica and Objectified are both on iTunes and on Netflix streaming.) And here’s the Urbanized trailer:
