So much for the idea of not buying a new iPad this year
This Is My Next’s Joshua Topolsky reports:
Our sources are saying that not only will there be a newly designed iPhone coming in the fall, but there is going to be a new entry into the iPad family as well. As hard as it might be to believe, the new tablet is said to sport a double resolution screen (2048 x 1536), and will be dubbed the “iPad HD.”
This is the new iPad I’ve been waiting for. As I wrote in March, after playing with (and not buying) an iPad 2:
I’ve decided that I’m holding out for an iPad with a “retina” display like the one on my iPhone 4, which still blows my mind almost a year later. That upgrade would be worth the price. Heck, I’d probably even pay twice as much for it. Reading, photos, the web, and games would be much cooler.
And if Apple calls it “iPad HD” or “iPad 2 HD,” they can still get away with the slogan “2011. The year of iPad 2.”
