Square is building iPads into NYC cabs

  1. Another cool “enterprise” use case for the iPad and growth opportunity for Apple. (In this case, the iPad is replacing some sort of PC, so it’s different than the “putting iPads where there weren’t PCs before” opportunity I previously outlined. Still, great for Apple if it takes off.)
  2. In this case, Square doesn’t seem to be making any iPad features available to users. So, conceivably, it could lower its costs by using cheap Android tablets. Or is the software power and flexibility of iOS a cost savings itself?
