Google quotes Android partners on its Motorola deal: “Defending” Android is the theme
On the conference call for Google’s big Motorola acquisition, Android boss Andy Rubin says he spoke yesterday with the five biggest Android licensees, and that they were very supportive of the Motorola deal.
This is probably because they expect Google to offer them patent protection as part of the deal, which is increasingly important.
Google assembled this page of quotes from some of its new competitors/partners. They each use the word “defending,” which almost seems too good to be coincidental — as if Google PR ordered them up that way.
For example, here’s Peter Chou, CEO of HTC:
“We welcome the news of today‘s acquisition, which demonstrates that Google is deeply committed to defending Android, its partners, and the entire ecosystem.”
